Calmer Night is not an earplug. It’s a calmer way of hearing.

Calmer Night is perfect to wear when winding down before bed. It’s not an earplug and doesn’t block sound – Calmer Night reduces noise – not volume. It does this by reducing distortion within the ear rather than simply reducing volume, this means the sound you hear is smoother with stressful frequencies reduced. Making you feel calmer. It means you can continue to hear the important sounds around you, but in a way that is less harsh on your ears.

90% of users fit standard size Calmer. If you are unsure of what size you need, we recommend trying the standard size first. Calmer Mini is available for anyone with much smaller ear canals.

Calmer Night is made from a soft-touch silicone and is designed to fit most ears. It’s been designed to reduce the most disruptive night-time noises which trigger our stress responses. Developed to help light sleepers, or anyone put on edge by unwanted evening noise to relax and get a good night’s sleep.

By reducing stress levels and removing the common trigger points that usually keep us on edge (phone alerts, sudden loud vocal sounds, dogs barking, noisy neighbours etc), the user is able to stay relaxed safe in the knowledge that these irritating noises will be reduced and softened. This is done by removing resonance. Resonance = distortion. Why don’t we want distortion? Distortion is noise. The definition of noise is unwanted sound, or sound that is judged to be unpleasant, loud or disruptive to hearing. This distorted sound loads us negatively. Much like poor diet, pollutants, distorted vision, which all affect our well-being, the sound we hear has the same effect.

Calmer Night will benefit anyone who has sensitive hearing and struggles with noise-related stress. Hyper-sensitivities (over-responsiveness) and hypo-sensitivities (under-responsiveness) to a wide range of stimuli are often things that autistic people find challenging. These can include sensitivities to sounds, smell, touch and taste. Users with hearing conditions such as Misophonia, Hypersensitivity and Hyperacusis also found that their audio world becomes more bearable when they wear Calmer Night, with irritating noises being reduced to a much more manageable level.
